Dear Colleague,

I am e-mailing to request that you forward this brief announcement and attached flyer (Top Ten Reasons You Should Apply to be a CAI Visiting Scholar) to colleagues or advanced Ph.D. students who you think might be an appropriate Visiting Scholar in the Center for Archaeological Investigations (CAI) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC).

The Visiting Scholar position provides support to a motivated individual to organize the annual CAI Visiting Scholar Conference on his/her chosen topic. The Visiting Scholar also edits the resulting conference volume, teaches one seminar in his/her specialty, and pursues his/her own research while in residence at SIUC. The position is an 11-month term appointment with full benefits. Ph.D. is required and must be completed by the beginning of the appointment (August 16, 2010). The application deadline is February 1, 2010. Pre-submission inquiries regarding the suitability of potential conference topics are encouraged.
